General conditions


The continued use of this website of A Home in Madeira, Lda. (AHIM) by the USER implies the agreement with the general conditions published.

AHIM reserves the right to change the general conditions and any other conditions of provision of the service at any time and without prior notice.

 

PRICES

Prices are shown for each accommodation, including accommodation service, cleaning fee and applicable extras, considering the length of booking, number of guests, time of year and other factors.

Prices can be changed at any time, dynamically and without notice, according to market factors.

The applicable price is the price accepted by the USER at the time of the booking request, and there is no right to additional payment, nor a refund in case of changes in prices after the booking request.

 

PAYMENTS

Payment terms and payment methods are presented at the time of the booking request by the USER.

 

BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS

Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of the user's proof of payment, duly identified.

Failure to pay within the established deadlines implies the expiry of the reservation, without the right to refund the amounts already paid, and the schedule will be open to accept other bookings.

 

IMPOSSIBILITY OF ACCOMMODATION

In the event that it is not possible to guarantee the accommodation booked by the USER, due to unforeseen events, overbooking or any other factor that justifies the impossibility of providing the service, AHIM may propose an alternative accommodation. If the price of the new accommodation is higher, AHIM will guarantee the price difference. If the price is lower, AHIM refunds the remaining amount to the USER. If the USER does not accept the alternative accommodation, the USER can request the cancellation and AHIM guarantees the full refund of the payments received.

 

CANCELLATIONS

The applicable cancellation policy for each booking, including deadlines and penalties, is presented at the time of booking.

The cancellation policy may be different for each property and may be changed at any time and without notice.

 

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES

Normal check-in times are displayed at the time of booking.

Early check-in and late check-out are free, but it depends on the availability of the accommodation and the scheduling of cleaning.

Late check-in is subject to a service charge when it comes to a face-to-face check-in, but it is free when the check-in non-face-to-face is possible with a key box.

The USER must agree check-in time at least two days prior to arrival. The waiting time for check-in is 60 minutes after the agreed time. After 60 minutes of the agreed time, a new time can be arranged according to AHIM availability.

 

CHECK-IN INFORMATION

Before the check-in date a message will be sent to the email provided in the booking, with the location of the accommodation and the instructions for arrival and key collection.

An online check-in form will also be sent out to collect essential check-in information and mandatory identification data from all foreign guests. This form must be completed and sent by the USER until at least two days before arrival.

Guests are required to present an ID upon arrival, as well as complete all necessary missing data to meet legal requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITY

AHIM is responsible for the accuracy of the information published in the advertisements and on the website. However, it is not responsible for the information provided by third parties accessed through external links.

The USER is responsible for the veracity and correction of the data provided in the booking for remaining communicable, and must respond to requests for additional information related to the booking and the stay, including identification data to comply with legal requirements.

The USER and the guests included in the booking are responsible for losses, damages, costs or expenses of any nature, directly or indirectly related to their stay in the accommodation and must immediately inform AHIM of its occurrence.

AHIM is not responsible for any incidents or damages that occurred with the USER and the guests included in the booking during the trip and stay in the accommodation that are not covered by the liability insurance in force in the accommodation.

In the event of typographical errors in the booking data entered by the USER or in the descriptions of the advertisements that may significantly change the conditions of the service, or in the event of abnormally low or abnormally high prices, in view of average prices and market trends, caused by human error or software failure, these anomalies must be immediately communicated to the other party so that they can be corrected. If the booking is made with errors or deviating prices, the conditions for its rectification will later be mutually agreed. If an agreement on rectification is not possible, AHIM may determine the nullity of the booking, and all amounts paid will be refunded if the error is the responsibility of AHIM or results from system failures.

AHIM is not responsible for the temporary unavailability of the website and any damages caused by system failures that do not allow to complete a booking or any other operation.
